About Me

My name is Andrea. As the editor of Gidget Golightly my goal is to invite you to the beauties of Southern California and neighboring states by sharing some of my favorite things to do. I’m 11798071_10200815172378102_703494553_na lover of art, entertainment, food, nature, travel and dogs.

Why Southern California?

I was born in Los Angeles and raised in the Inland Empire, I attended school in Orange County and while pursuing my degree I obtained a few work/internships opportunities in Los Angeles County. I majored in Radio-TV-Film and minored in Public Relations, a career that required my life to revolve around Los Angeles. Yes, my commutes to Los Angeles from the Inland Empire were on average two hours long but I would not trade the experience for anything. On my travels, to and from, I passed Fox Studios, the Los Angeles Airport, downtown Los Angeles and Rodeo Drive, among other amazing sites.  I also made frequent pit stops in Orange County including Newport Beach (one of my favorite beaches) for school purposes. This has inspired me to share some of my experiences, love and appreciation for Southern California including what is often forgot about the Inland Empire (San Bernardino & Riverside County).

Why Gidget Golightly?

I’ve often gone by the name Gidget Golightly for social media. The name Gidget is inspired by the 1959 TV series Gidget (Malibu beach girl), also known as the novel Gidget, The Little Girl With Big Ideas. Golightly is inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s screen name in the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The combination of the names display my love for film, television and Southern California.
